1899 - Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.is established with Western Electric Company of the United States to become the first Japanese joint venture with foreign capital.

1925 - Radio Tokyo, Japan's first broadcasting organization is supplied with Western Electric Company broadcasting equipment imported by NEC.

2002 - "The Earth Simulator", the world's fastest supercomputer system for resolving global environmental problems completed.
